ABOUT US

Two smiling men wearing dark jackets and gray beanies standing in a kitchen seen through a red framed window. The kitchen has white tiled walls, a metal oven hood, and a dome-shaped pizza oven in the background. There are various boxes, bottles, and tools on the counter in the foreground.

Just about 10 years ago, Chef John Coppola opened a small sandwich truck in the heart of Dumbo, serving family recipes and homemade spreads.

It was an instant hit. After expanding to a brick and mortar storefront nearby, we served the neighborhood for nearly a decade. In 2024, our Dumbo location closed, which led us to finding a new home here in Williamsburg.

This is the Bread & Spread we always wanted to share with you. Our dream sandwich shop.

Everything we make is a labor of love and time.

From housemade spreads that take hours and hours to become truly perfect, to mouthwatering porchetta and short rib that gets as much care as it does flavor.

And our bread – purveyed by Grandaisy Bakery, brings everything together, a perfect canvas for us to do our thing.

We’re pairing the best ingredients with the best recipes — that includes classics from our OG Dumbo location and a ton of new ones that we know you’ll love.

Oh, and we do breakfast all day. Seriously.

In many ways, this is a new chapter for us — one filled with new sandwiches, new friends, and a whole new look.

And yet, we’re still the same Bread & Spread. We care about crafting quality, chef-curated food that we’re proud to serve every day.

From Dumbo with Love,
